While I have been working on some of the more basic wiring, such as the low-voltage and the wall outlets, the electrician will be here next week to wrap up the bigger stuff.
The countertops were delayed by at least a month due to the sink order being delayed. The lesson I have learned in this whole project is that the remodeling supply chain is made for standard spec houses. Try to do anything that is a bit different, and prepare to wait. And wait.
After the countertops and sinks are installed, then its flooring. We have the carpet selected, but still need to finalize the wood floor choice.
Had a few shipments arrive over the holidays of stuff needed that cannot be bought in a store (what good is Lowes and HD)
Here's the pile (click to expand)

To the left are the wall outlets and plates (bought at stores). In the boxes are the Lutron dimmers and a shipment of door hardware. It's the standard Schlage stuff, but its in Aged Pewter - anything in Pewter is difficult to find. We have a pewter fireplace screen and are trying to stick with that theme.
Some of the low voltage stuff in other boxes, a crimping tool and an impact tool, and then to the right are the new can lights. I returned the previous low-voltage can lights as they were too tall to fit into the soffit over the bar and fireplace - and I found these that are only 3.5 inches high - with built-in low voltage transformers. We like them so much we bought two extra that will be used for the bar counter lighting, instead of hanging light pendants.
I replaced the factory-standard 1980's disco brass hardware with the Pewter stuff

Wiring is a pain. All of it. Junction boxes are simply not big enough. I hope my CAT-6 Type A wiring works......

Finished wall boxes

More to come next week after all of the electrical is complete
