Holes in the House

Next up: The bathroom fan, which by code must be vented to the outside. In this case, the only option is for the venting to occur under the deck (and over the patio).

Below is the newly mounted fan and the 4 1/2" hole in the house....(click photos to enlarge)

The strata of the side of our house. Top is the house sill (outer joist), followed by the wood siding, followed by the CCA treated lumber of the deck joist.



Best to do this before the bugs and birds start coming around...



Vent installed.



Here is the assembly. Needs some supports. Not entirely sure I like this - I may replace the flex with 4" duct pipe if I can find any.....
