Let's start with some panoramic photos (you'll need to click to expand these photos)
First is the panoramic from the northwest corner of the Ground Floor. On the left of the image is the stairs landing, in the middle is the bar, then the half-bath, and then all the way to the right is the fireplace (you can only see the side of the fireplace chase). There is no sheetrock attached on the underside of the soffit - that will be ceiling tile so that it can be removed to access to the house mechanicals.

Next, from the southwest corner of the room - in the 'foyer' area where the door to the patio is. To the left is the other side of the fireplace chase, then looking into the family/media room, then the bar, the door area to the playroom, and then the side of the bathroom on the right.

This the playroom, from the southeast corner of the house. Not as much to see here, other than on the center left of the image is the doorway to the main part of the ground floor (french doors will be here) and on the center right is the doorway to the mechanical room. This room is probably cleaner now than it ever will be once the kids move in.

Some additional photos:
Finally, the wall and ceiling where the stairs landing meets the basement ceiling has come together. This was a mess of wallspace, broken sheetrock, etc. We plan to put a tracklight in to replace the lightbulb at the stair landing. Note the hole in the wall for the right-side surround-sound in-wall speaker.

I was orignally going to put in an ugly hatch or access door in the wall for access to the water main and the water faucet. I instead decided to use a 2-Gang new construction low-voltage box to access only the water main valve (as I hope I never need to use the faucet. If I do, I know where it is and can also put in a similar access hole).
There's the water main valve

I can access the valve just fine! The beauty of this is that now instead of some unsightly access hatch, the water main is concealed behind an ordinary looking electrical box.

More views of the bar. The design looks a little confusing but will come together nicely with cabinets, countertop, sink, fridge, lights, barstools, etc. More work for Dad.
